Big Ten Media Days were held in Las Vegas this year as the conference got a change of scenery for their annual kickoff event. Michigan State sent Stanton Ramil, Nick Marsh, Jordan Hall, and Jonathan Smith to represent the program in Vegas and they didn't disappoint.

Marsh delivered one of the better quotes of the event, saying that he's received other offers to play elsewhere since being at Michigan State, but he's building something that he's not ready to give up.

While Marsh was speaking highly of Michigan State and representing himself really well, guys like Hall and Ramil got to speak to the media separately as well.

And Ramil may have a legitimate challenger to Marsh for quote of the year so far.

OK, obviously Marsh and Ramil delivered two completely opposite quotes in terms of substance, but both seemed to get fans excited. Marsh showed that even though he's a budding superstar who will receive plenty of lucrative offers to play elsewhere, Michigan State is still his home. And Ramil, well, he just wants to see couches burned.

What does that mean? It's not as ridiculous of a quote as it sounds. What he's saying here is that he wants to be part of teams that secure big wins because at Michigan State, couches get burned when teams are doing well -- it's the students' unconventional way of celebrating (don't question it).

Ramil is essentially saying that he wants to be on teams that cause couch burnings. He wants to win those big games like the ones Mark Dantonio era teams won that led to plenty of charred fabric.

I'm right there with him. It might sound stupid, but this team wants to be part of something special that causes students to go out in the streets and burn couches in celebration.

Let's hope we see plenty of burnt couches in East Lansing this year.
