April 1 was a forgettable day for Michigan State basketball fans as three players decided to leave the program early and enter the transfer portal. The most shocking loss was junior guard Tre Holloman.

The Minnesota native and sixth man was expected to have an expanded role in East Lansing next season but he opted to enter the portal and look for a new school to play his final year and potentially lead the way as a starting point guard -- he wasn't doing that over Jeremy Fears Jr.

Holloman ended up committing to NC State on Sunday afternoon, choosing the Wolfpack over the likes of North Carolina and Baylor.

The news rocked Michigan State Twitter (or X). While everyone had come to terms with the fact that he wasn't returning to East Lansing next year, seeing him in a new uniform was not a sight for sore eyes. He looked just wrong in that red NC State jersey, but he's going to do just fine.

Michigan State is officially moving on and now Tom Izzo can focus on building the roster around the current guys, adding maybe 1-2 more players from the transfer portal.

But before we get there, let's take a look at some of the best fan reactions to the Holloman news.

Obviously fans are sad to see Holloman go, but they're torn on what the driving factor was. Could it have been just a money thing? His mom says no, but it's hard to argue against that when he committed to Will Wade and NC State.

Holloman gave Michigan State three good years and it'll be sad to see him suiting up for another team, but it feels like he left the team on good terms.
