Just when a faction of the fanbase was ready to throw in the towel on the transfer portal, Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo worked in the shadows and picked up a commitment on Thursday from FAU wing Kaleb Glenn.

The sophomore wing is one of the best shooters in the portal, making over 41 percent of his shots from deep this season and finishing as a second-team ll-conference performer with FAU.

Glenn was a highly-recruited kid out of high school, ranking in the top-75 nationally before choosing Louisville. As a freshman, he played about 14 minutes per game but the situation was a disaster as the coaching staff was one of the worst in the country and the team reflected that. He looked for a fresh start immediately and landed at FAU post-Dusty May.

That decision paid major dividends as he averaged 12.6 points and 4.8 rebounds for the Owls while playing nearly 26 minutes per game off the bench. If he's going to be a bench role player, he could become one of the best sixth men in the Big Ten.

Ant Wright actually pieced together a really solid breakdown of Glenn following his commitment on Thursday morning.

Basically, Glenn is a plus shooter with athleticism and he's not out there to facilitate, he's a scorer. He's going to put the ball in the basket by any means necessary and he had just 20 total assists last season with FAU. He had a great bounce-back season after transferring from that Kenny Payne nightmare at Louisville two years ago and he looks to be living up to his high school recruiting hype.

This is a fantastic pickup. Not too flashy, but Glenn is going to be a difference-maker and he has two years of eligibility left.

Izzo just continues to work in silence and make impressive moves in the portal.
