Folks, former Michigan State star Raequan Williams is back in the NFL and he's heading to Detroit after performing well at his tryout with the Lions this past week.
According to the Lions' official Twitter account, they signed three players on Monday afternoon and one of those happened to be Williams which is a great sign following the announcement of his tryout.

Williams went undrafted in 2020 after playing four solid seasons under Mark Dantonio from 2016-2019. He was productive from the get-go in East Lansing, playing in 11 games as a freshman in 2016, recording 28 tackles, five tackles for loss, and two sacks. As a sophomore, he saw his numbers increase across the board and the same could be said for his junior year.
As a senior in 2019, he finished with 48 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and five sacks. Williams was considered a potential Day 3 pick but he went undrafted and signed with the Eagles shortly after.
While he only played in a handful of games with the Eagles a few years ago, he decided to make a push at an NFL return and he has made the cut in Detroit. This doesn't mean he's guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster in the fall, but this is a good first step toward making a name for himself and potentially getting back into the league slowly by surely.
My guess is that he's going to be working his way through the practice squad this season and he'll eventually earn a call because Detroit has been known to be thin along the defensive line.
I'm buying some Raequan Williams stock now.
