A former Michigan State football star could be soon getting another NFL opportunity.
After spending two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, playing seven total games, Raequan Williams has been out of the NFL since 2021 -- at least he's been off active rosters since then. Now, he's looking to make a return to the league and he's attempting that with the Detroit Lions.
According to Colton Pouncy, Williams is on the Lions' tryout list this offseason.

While it's unclear whether the Lions invited him to try out or if he threw his own name into the mix, it's still cool to see he's attempting a return to the NFL after a three-year absence.
Williams went undrafted in 2020 following a successful and productive four-year career with Michigan State. He totaled 160 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, and three forced fumbles during his time in East Lansing and his senior season was arguably his most successful as he finished with 48 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and a career-best five sacks.
Detroit is a team that could use some help on the defensive line and obviously a guy who's been out of the league for three years isn't going to be the solution right away, but he could earn a practice squad spot and potentially work his way onto the roster eventually.
Williams was a fan favorite during his time at Michigan State so if he were to make the Lions' practice squad, he would have a ton of support from the area.
Man, it would be cool to see Raequan suiting up in the Honolulu blue.
