Michigan State football has been knocked to the ground, and it feels like every major program in America is getting a kick in while the Spartans are laying there.
Jonathan Smith's program is lifeless right now, and it's only getting worse.
After losing two of their top-ranked recruits to decommitments over the past month, it looks like the Spartans are about to lose a third.
Samson Gash, a four-star receiver and the current highest-ranked player in MSU's 2026 class, took a visit to Alabama this past weekend and he loved what he saw. To put it bluntly, he feels like a lock to flip his commitment from Michigan State to Alabama after seeing his post-visit quote.
According to a report, Gash said, "It gave me the goosebumps a little bit."
If that doesn't scream "he's flipping immediately", I don't know what does.
Then, on Monday, a report came out from Rivals' Josh Newberg who said that sources that spent time with Gash during his visit feel good about the flip.

When it rains, it pours for Smith and the Spartans.
This news comes a little over a week after losing a game at Minnesota in heartbreaking fashion where the officials admittedly made a mistake in overtime on a correct pass interference call that was overturned. Michigan State would lose the game because it kicked the field goal after the referee gaffe and Minnesota scored a touchdown on third-and-goal.
So, if you're a Michigan State football fan, this has been one of the most frustrating and forgettable seasons in recent memory, and it's only getting worse with these mounting decommitments.
