Every once in a while, a player comes along and makes such extreme growth in one offseason that you feel in your bones that he's going to become a star. That can be said for Xavier Booker.

The soon-to-be sophomore big man had a relatively quiet freshman season, averaging 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.3 minutes per game. His numbers weren't jumping off the paper at anyone, especially after he joined the Spartans as a five-star. If anything, people would have called his freshman season "disappointing" but it was actually a good learning experience.

Booker came to Michigan State as a top-15 recruit but his frame was nowhere near ready to compete in the post in the Big Ten. Tom Izzo warned fans about that, but most heeded that and just got upset when he wasn't playing much early on.

As the end of the season, however, Booker looked like he was growing quite a bit. He was maturing and he looked more comfortable on the floor. And then he announced he'd be back for 2024-25.

The five-star recruit who many assumed would be a one-and-done decided to return for at least one more season at Michigan State and then immediately got to work. He added 20 pounds of muscle in the first two months of the offseason and he's now up to 6-foot-11 and 245 pounds. That's what you call a Big Ten-ready frame.

But he continues to prove just why we all need to buy his stock in bulk. As if the added weight wasn't enough, he was seen working out with Jaren Jackson Jr. this week.

Booker definitely looks bigger in that video and the fact that he's turning to one of the best bigs to ever come through East Lansing for training is critical. Jaren Jackson Jr. is the perfect player to get some tips and train with because he, too, came to Michigan State as a lanky big man who many doubted but he turned into one of the best freshmen in the country and a top-five NBA draft pick. Oh yeah, and he won an NBA Defensive Player of the Year award and was an All-Star last year.

So if you're reading this, buy stock in Booker now because not only has he added necessary weight and muscle, but he's also learning from one of the best big men in the world.
