Have you ever taken the time to sit down and select your Michigan State basketball all time starting five from the Tom Izzo era? If you haven't let me warn you, it is extremely difficult.

That's probably a good thing though because that means we have witnessed many great players come through the program. I guess that's what happens when a coach leads his team to one national title, eight Final Fours and 10 Big Ten championships in his career. Even thinking about each position individually, you immediately can think of three or four guys that could be selected.

But we aren't here for an honorable mention list. We're here to select the best starting five we possibly can from one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time.

Many of you likely will disagree with at least one selection on this list, but again that's just the beauty of having so many options at our disposal.
