Updating all 13 Michigan State basketball players' performances at Moneyball
10. Carson Cooper
Carson Cooper unfortunately may be the most inconsistent Michigan State player this Moneyball season so far. Cooper has scored 16 points twice as well as 26 and 23.
In a game this winter those would be amazing numbers, but 16 points at Moneyball isn’t all that impressive for an upperclassman. So I need to see Cooper dominate more this summer before I get over the top excited for him next season.
One thing that does excite me a little is that he’s hit three 3-pointers this Moneyball season. I highly doubt Izzo will let him shoot threes during the regular season, but who knows, maybe that’s a new part of his game he’ll showcase this year.
We don’t, however, have to worry about Cooper's defense. He’s one of the better defenders in the Big Ten, and that isn’t going anywhere. But the next step for Cooper is a consistent offensive game. He doesn’t even need to be one of Michigan State’s top five scorers, but if he can consistently score 6-8 points per game every night then that would go a long way.
