10. Scott Skiles

You're probably surprised to see Scott Skiles so low on this list, but it's only because some of the other guys were better scorers and had longer careers. Skiles played 10 seasons in the NBA for five teams and had 3,881 assists. He was one of the best passers in the league throughout his career, averaging 6.5 per game.

Skiles played in 600 career games and his assist numbers were impressive but he also had a handful of seasons of being a solid scoring option. In fact, he averaged at least 13 points per game in four of his final six seasons in the league and was even named the league's most improved player in 1990-91 when he averaged a career-high 17.2 points and 8.4 assists per game.

The former Spartan point guard also shot about 89 percent from the free throw line over his career and just under 40 percent from 3-point range.

Not only did Skiles have a really solid playing career, but he also coached for 14 seasons in the league, posting a career record of 478-480. His teams made the playoffs six times but he never made it past the conference semifinals. A decent coach, but a much better player.
