1. Magic Johnson

There's no doubt about it, Magic Johnson is the greatest Spartan to ever play in the NBA.

The former NCAA champion was selected No. 1 overall in the 1979 NBA Draft by the Lakers after beating Larry Bird and Indiana State for the title and their rivalry actually carried over into the NBA where they had some legendary battles.

All Magic did in the NBA was dominate. He won five NBA titles, three MVPs, he was a four-time assist champion, he was named to 12 NBA All-Star teams, he was named All-NBA 10 times, he was a three-time NBA Finals MVP, and he's already a Hall of Famer. Magic is widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all time and arguably the best point guard to ever play.

Magic played 14 years in the league and averaged 19.5 points and 11.2 assists per game. He is regarded as one of the most electric passers of all time as he perfected the no-look assist.

While I wasn't old enough to truly enjoy Magic's greatness in the NBA, watching old highlights of him carving up defenses with his passes and incredible deceptiveness is still fun.

There's no doubt about it, Magic is the GOAT (greatest of all time) of Michigan State.
