Tom Izzo feels how we all feel about this year's Michigan State basketball team

Tom Izzo is all of us today. After Michigan State basketball picked up a massive win over No. 10 Illinois on Saturday, the Spartans are 15-9 on the year and above .500 in the Big Ten again. But the amount of talent this team has just goes to show how disappointing this mark through 24 games truly is.

Even though the season has been disappointing to this point, Tom Izzo has high hopes.

In fact, he spoke to the media on Monday during his weekly presser and pretty much said what every Michigan State fan in existence is thinking.

This team is absolutely good enough to go on a big run. They have all the talent in the world but for whatever reason, the inconsistency is killing them. And then he finished by saying just that. The inconsistency of this team is enough that he doesn't sleep well at night.

Same, Tom. Same.

Michigan State just took down No. 10 Illinois on Saturday afternoon in a clutch must-win situation and that came just a few short days after falling to Minnesota on the road. Everyone expected the reverse to happen, but the Spartans are just that inconsistent. Plus, they had the Minnesota win in the bag but just handed it away -- and yet they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Illinois.

While Izzo is correct about this team being scarily inconsistent, I think the potential of it has everyone intrigued for when the NCAA Tournament rolls around. No one will want to see the Spartans.

Let's just hope they actually go on a run like they're capable of doing.
