That roar you hear inside the Breslin Center in East Lansing is always deafening. Michigan State basketball's Izzone knows what it takes to be elite.

The Spartan basketball team and Izzone go hand and hand. It has been amongst the best environments in college basketball for years now.

Though the past several seasons have been far below expectations for MSU hoops, the Izzone remains a rowdy bunch.

College basketball analyst Andy Katz took to X recently ranking the top 10 student sections, and like always the Izzone finds itself near the top. The Izzone comes in at No. 4 overall, just behind Duke's Cameron Crazies, Purdue's Paint Crew, and Kansas.

The rest of the top 10 includes Gonzaga, UConn, Auburn, San Diego State, Rutgers, and Providence. It's quite the list with plenty of flavor from across the country. Funny how all the teams amongst this list are teams that make an impact nearly every season.

The complete top 10 list was posted to the NCAA March Madness X page.

Being amongst the top five student sections is a great ranking. There was a time when the Izzone could have easily been at No. 1.

Each the schools on this list are deserving of being in the top 10, but from my personal experience, nothing is better than the Izzone.

I have fond memories from my time in the Izzone (2016-2018). By far the best moment was winning the Big Ten title on my senior night in 2018, and getting to kiss the Spartan head after the game.

Like Tom Izzo always says, the Izzone is always important because their comes a time when the team needs them as much as the fans need the team.

The Izzone can be a real difference maker, and no offense to those other fine student sections, but it's is No.1 in my book.
