Another week, another season-ending injury for Michigan State football.

Just when it looked like Michigan State might avoid mass amounts of serious injuries in the weeks leading up to the season opener, the Spartans got bitten by the injury bug -- hard.

Dillon Tatum, Khalil Majeed, and Alante Brown all went down in the season opener against FAU and Jonathan Smith announced that there's a chance that each could miss the rest of the year. That meant the Spartans took some major blows to depth in the defensive backfield as well as at receiver.

The bad news didn't stop in Week 1, however. Michigan State announced that Kristian Phillips and Chance Rucker would likely miss the rest of the regular season with injuries suffered at Maryland. There's a chance Rucker misses as little as six weeks, but that's still half the year, at least.

But wait, there's more.

After missing the Prairie View A&M game, Jaron Glover is questionable for Boston College in Week 4 but there's hope that he returns. Michigan State needs him because he's one of the most dangerous weapons on the offensive side of the ball. But that's not even the bad injury news from the week. Phillips' replacement at right guard, Gavin Broscious, suffered a likely season-ending leg injury.

So if you're counting at home, that makes six players who may miss the rest of the season to injury through the first three weeks. And that's not counting the "minor" injuries to guys like Glover, Montorie Foster Jr., Caleb Coley, Avery Dunn, Ben Roberts, and a few more.

The injury bug is sinking its teeth into Michigan State football right now and there feels like no repellent to kill it at the moment.
