6. Cam Ward

Next up we have a top 50 forward in Cam Ward, who just announced his top 10 schools.

Ward is from Upper Marlboro, Md., and according to the 247Sports composite, he is the No. 48 player in the country as well as the No. 2 player from Maryland.

Included in his top 10 along with Michigan State are Mississippi State, Marquette, Alabama, Kansas State, Virginia, Maryland, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and Florida State. For a top 50 recruit, this isn’t a very scary group of programs to be up against, so that fact alone is intriguing to me.

But on top of that, MSU is one of only four schools who have scheduled an official visit with Ward so far. The Spartans will host Ward on Sept. 28 and Kansas State, Maryland, and Alabama will get their shot during a visit as well.

But to put the icing on the cake, Ward had this to say to Joe Tipton of On3 about his recruitment with Michigan State.

"How do you say no to Tom Izzo? That guy is a legend and I see everything that they want to do with me as far as get me to the league and be a part of a family."

Cam Ward

Now that definitely sounds like someone who could become a Spartan someday.
