3. Coen Carr

Coen Carr is one of the players that Michigan State fans wanted to see the most improvement from. We all know how elite his athleticism is, but how much did he improve on his offensive game and defense this offseason?

Unfortunately we can’t really judge defense at Moneyball because most players don’t care about it enough, but we can evaluate if Carr’s offense improved or not. Specifically if he found a jump shot.

And after 10 games at Moneyball my answer to that is that I’m not sure. Carr did average 32.5 points per game and made six 3-pointers across his 10 games, but a vast majority of those points came at the rim. We all know he’s a great player already when it comes to finishing at the rim, so if Carr could find a consistent jump shot then he’d become a deadly player.

But I unfortunately did not see that enough, so we’ll have to see how he does during the regular season when they play a more traditional offense.
