Ranking the top 5 Michigan State football vs. Notre Dame games

5. Michigan State 17, Notre Dame 0 - 1910

To start of this list, I want to throw it back over 100 years ago to the first victory in this rivalry for Michigan State. Back in 1910, the Spartans were still Michigan Agricultural College (which makes this selection that much better) and defeated the Irish for the first time 17-0.

MSU had lost the first eight meetings against Notre Dame which weirdly enough all took place in South Bend, IN, but the Spartans were able to prevail in the first meeting in East Lansing.

While there will be many more exciting games on the rest of the list, I think it's fun to look back and remember where and how Michigan State football began. MSU by no means were world beaters back then, but those years are still valuable and imortant as it helped the program build up to the success they found in later years and still find today.
