5. 2014-15

This is where this list starts to get interesting as these next five teams are all significantly better than the last one we just talked about.

This 2014-15 team is the oldest team on this list and also one of the two Final Four teams. So surely they should be a lot higher since they made the Final Four, right? Not on my list. This is another example of a team getting hot at the right time because they made the Final Four as a 7-seed. So even though this season will always be remembered fondly, I don't think a great March Madness run automatically makes a team better than the ones that couldn't get there.

This team finished the season 27-12 (12-6) and was led by guys like Travis Trice, Brenden Dawson, and Denzel Valentine. One thing that made this team so remarkable is how tough it was. If this was a list of which Michigan State teams were the toughest, these guys would be No. 1 by far. That toughness won them so many games this season and is probably the main reason they made their magical run to the Final Four.

But for all the good memories this team brought to the program, they still weren't one of the best overall teams in the past decade. Once we get into these next squadsm I think you'll understand why.
