6. 2022-23

You might think I am a little crazy here because the 2022-23 team was essentially the same roster as this past season's team. This is true, but you may be forgetting about one person: Joey Hauser.

Now I still think Tyson Walker was the best player on this team, but Hauser was significantly better than the rest of the squad. He was a sniper from 3-point range, solid on defense, and never seemed to make any silly mistakes in his final year. So his presence alone makes this team significantly better than this past season's team.

All that being said, this team is still worse than the top five coming up next.

A 21-13 (11-8) record isn't that good, but they managed to salvage the season by defeating 2-seed Marquette in the NCAA Tournament. They also were as close as you could be to defeating 3-seed Kansas State in the Sweet 16. And who knows, maybe they would have made the Final Four.

But even if this team did advance to a Final Four, I would still slot them in this same spot on my list. They struggled all season but just so happened to get hot at the right time in March. But that run in March, along with the addition of Hauser, is what moved this team up to No. 6 on my list.
