Ranking Michigan State football's offensive position groups for 2024
1. Quarterbacks
There's a reason Aidan Chiles has been ranked as one of the top quarterback transfers in all of college football. His physical skills are off the charts and his leadership abilities gives him the potential to be one of the all-time greats at Michigan State.
When quarterback whisperer Lincoln Riley tries to recruit him away from your school, you know you have something special. He's already familiar with the offensive scheme, has chemistry with the top tight end on the team, and showed flashes of accuracy (completed 68.6% of his passes last year with four touchdowns and zero picks) and running ability while in the back up role at Oregon State last year.
Spartan fans saw what poor quarterback play can do to a team and Chiles will be the X-factor for Michigan State's season. If he shows inexperience, then the Spartans hover right around their predicted 4-5 wins, if he proves to be above average, it can help the Spartans win 6-8 games.
If Chiles lives up to the hype, this team can potentially win nine games, with a possibility of pulling an upset for that 10th win. He will be by far the best player on the offensive side of the ball and can bring the one thing that has been lacking from Spartan offenses for years: excitement.
