Tight End: Jack Velling
This selection, similarly to Aidan Chiles, is very simple for me. Jack Velling is another transfer from Oregon State, but he has had a lot more on field experience than Chiles.
Last season with the Beavers, Velling led the FBS in tight end touchdown receptions with eight. He also totaled 29 receptions for 438 yards as well. Velling has the unique ability where he can take the top off the defense and make a big play while also hunkering down in short yardage packages as well.
But if you don’t believe me, then take a look at what 18-year NFL scout veteran Jim Nagy just said about Velling. According to him, Velling already is good enough to make an NFL roster and could be an NFL starter if his blocking improves.

Outside of Chiles, Velling has the chance to be the offense’s MVP this season. And that is something Michigan State desperately needs to have happen. Any offense improves dramatically if they have a legit weapon at tight end, and Velling is just that. So let’s hope he brings that to East Lansing this fall.
