Projecting defensive starters for Michigan State football in 2024
Linebacker 3: Jordan Hall
The last linebacker I’m predicting to become a starter is sophomore standout Jordan Hall.
A true sophomore starting at a key position doesn’t happen all the time, but Hall is easily ready to take it on. In fact, there’s a good chance he’s already the best linebacker on the roster.
The former four-star recruit saw action in all 12 games during his true freshman 2023 season which included six starts. During the season he recorded 67 tackles which was fourth best on the team and second best among Big Ten freshman. Hall also totaled 4.5 sacks which was second best on the team as well.
Not only is Hall an elite player, but he might be an even better leader. Does anyone else remember when he committed to Michigan State live during the summer of 2022 during his official visit in front of all the other recruits and families in attendance?
Hall has a chance to go down as one of the best Michigan State linebackers of all time. He already is on his way to that after a stellar freshman season, and I wouldn’t be surprised if more people begin feeling that way after this season, especially if he earns All-Big Ten honors.
Quick shoutout to Darius Snow and Cal Haladay who were both close to getting one of these three starting spots. They both are good enough in my mind, but this just speaks to how talented the linebacker room is at Michigan State.
