4. at Boston College

Game number four is an exciting one because we get to see Michigan State’s annual game against a new, Power Four non-conference opponent. The last two years MSU struggled with Washington, but this time they get a team more on their level in Boston College.

This game is probably the most critical of the entire season, especially if my prediction of a loss to Maryland comes true. We all know how difficult the schedule is about to get after this game, so if Michigan State wants to make a bowl game they absolutely cannot afford to start the year 2-2.

I don’t see that happening.

Boston College is going through a coaching change just like MSU is, so that should help level the playing field some. I also think that Aidan Chiles will reach his stride this week now that he has three games under his belt as a stater. The entire team is also coming off a dominant performance the week prior, so there confidence is at an all time high.

This game will be close most of the game, but Michigan State will pull away late and win by a comfortable margin.

Prediction: MSU wins 34-17

Record: 3-1, 0-1
