3. Prarie View A&M

After a heartbreaking loss the week prior to Maryland, it will be nice to come back home to face the easiest opponent on the schedule.

Prairie View A&M is the only FCS team on the Spartan's schedule this season. This game was supposed to be against a slightly better opponent in Louisiana, but they backed out of the game this spring leaving Michigan State very limited options to replace them.

So now MSU has a very weak opponent coming to town, but maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Usually I don't like when Michigan State plays FCS opponents because other than a free win getting added to the record, I don't think it helps prepare the team going forward. That however is different this year.

With all the new players, staff and schemes this year, Michigan State needs as much prep work as they can to figure it all out. That's why this game is so nice to have on the schedule because they will be able to dominate an opponent, play pretty much everyone on the roster and really get a boost to their confidence.

Prediction: MSU wins 45-10

Record: 2-1, 0-1
