Predicting the final score of all 20 Michigan State Big Ten basketball Big Ten games
19. @ Iowa
The Spartans are getting hot as the season is coming to an end and now Michigan State travels to Iowa for their final road game of the season.
Like most years, the Hawkeyes will be a solid Big Ten in the middle of the standings that have the ability to beat any team in the conference. But as the calendar now turns to March I believe Izzo will do what he always does and have his team playing their best basketball of the year.
I do still get flashbacks from a few years ago when Iowa came back and beat MSU super late in the second half when they couldn’t miss a shot from anywhere on the court. So those nightmares make me nervous for this game, but Michigan State will be the better team and I think they’ll prove it.
Prediction: Michigan State wins 88-79
Updated Record: 13-6
20. Michigan
We’ve finally made it to the season finale and this year it’s the second game against rival Michigan. Before I jump into the prediction itself, can we all acknowledge how this game should be the season finale every year? This game is typically too good and competitive for it not to be, so I think it should rotate between venues as the last game of the season every year.
Now with that out of the way this is a massive game for the Spartans' season. With postseason play right around the corner Michigan State has a chance to enter the postseason as one of the hottest teams in the country (let me know if you’ve heard that before). A win would be the fifth straight for Michigan State, and that is exactly what I’m predicting will happen.
In all honesty, the opponent on senior day doesn’t even matter to me because MSU never loses on senior night. It’s been over a decade since they lost on senior day, and there’s no chance Izzo lets that streak end against Michigan of all teams.
Prediction: Michigan State wins 75-63
Final Big Ten Record: 14-6
