The aftermath online after Michigan State football’s 38-7 loss to Ohio State was something I had never seen before. MSU fans were upset and sad while rival fans were making fun of the Michigan State for getting beat so bad at home, but the one fanbase that had nothing negative to say was Ohio State.

In fact, many of their fans took to social media to share how impressed they were with Michigan State on Saturday.

This is such an extremely rare thing to see. First of all, how often do you have good things to say about a team (whether it’s your team or not) after they lose by 31 points? And the fanbase that just watched their team dish out that blowout loss almost never has anything positive to say. They’re usually the ones making fun of you the most, but the exact opposite happened Saturday night after the game.

Here are just a handful of the things Ohio State fans said that show they were impressed and see the positive direction the Michigan State program is heading in.

Now while it is nice to see these positive things shared about MSU, it sure would’ve been a lot nicer to see it after a more competitive final score. These words would’ve hit home even more had the final score been within a couple scores and Michigan State still had a chance to win late in the game.

But for now we have to settle with this being said after a 31 point loss. However, I do pray that these Ohio State fans are right because I’m ready for Michigan State football to be back. And I’m not talking about a one hit wonder team like in 2021, I’m talking about a return to the glory days that we saw Mark Dantonio bring the program to.

Thankfully I believe the pieces are there under Jonathan Smith to get there, but it’s going to take some time. I just hope we’re all patient enough to wait for MSU to get there.
