Nick Samac was the only hope for Michigan State football to keep its new NFL draft streak alive. The Spartans' long streak was ended in 2021 but they've had a player selected in each of the past three years thanks to Samac.

On Saturday evening, he heard his name called by the Baltimore Ravens in the seventh round. He waited a long time to hear his name called, but he was more than grateful.

Every phone call to these late-round picks is usually pretty heartwarming as they didn't know if their dream of hearing their name called in the NFL draft would come true. For Samac, it did just under the wire as he was the No. 228 overall pick.

Right before he was selected, he got a call from the Ravens and shared a really cool phone call with the front office as well as head coach John Harbaugh.

You could just tell that Samac was going through a rollercoaster of emotions after a long draft process and waiting six rounds to hear his name called. He was emotional and appreciative of the Ravens for picking him No. 228 overall and the "You OK playing for a Harbaugh?" question was hilarious.

Samac was in tears as he was talking to John Harbaugh and it was cool to hear him say that they love him as a player and can see him being a part of the future offensive line, snapping the ball to Lamar Jackson.

We'll see if Samac can make the 53-man rotation this year but I wouldn't bet against it.
