Michigan State football trending for 4-star California CB
The Michigan State football season is about a month away and that means recruiting talk is about to die down and we can finally start talking some real football.
Thankfully the Spartans' 2025 class is very solid with a total of 15 commits so far. But 15 isn’t enough for a full class, so Jonathan Smith and his staff still have some work to do.
Thankfully it looks like they are on the verge of earning their next commitment.
LaRue Zamorano is a four-star corner from Corona, Calif. According to Rivals, he is the No. 245 player in the country. Zamorano is also the No. 23 player from the state of California and the No. 22 corner in the country.
Earlier on Sunday, Zamorano received two predictions to commit to Michigan State on 247Sports. These predictions came from two national recruiting analysts, which to me is very significant. These guys have no bias towards Michigan State whatsoever, so I tend to believe these predictions more than team specific analysts.
Zamorano took three official visits this summer, with the first being to Michigan State the weekend of May 31. He also officially visited Washington and Kansas throughout June as well.
There is currently no timeline for a commitment yet, but I would imagine one could be coming very soon. Especially with the high school football season beginning soon, I could see Zamorano wanting to get his commitment out of the way so he can focus on his senior season.
Zamorano would be the third commit in the secondary for the Spartan’s 2025 class, meaning he could be the last for this year. He would join both George Mullins and Aydan West as the corner commits in Michigan State’s class.
No recruitment is ever officially over until the player commits, but this one is looking as close to done as possible. Now let’s hope Smith can hold on until Zamorano makes it official.
