Former Michigan State football star Derrick Harmon has found a new home.

After spending the past week in the transfer portal, the former Spartan has officially found a new home and Michigan State will actually face him in October of this year.

That's right, Harmon chose another Big Ten program to call home.

On Friday, he committed to Dan Lanning and Oregon.

This one definitely hurts because not only is Harmon leaving after being one of the highest-paid defensive linemen in the Big Ten, but he's going to a program that will face Michigan State this season in conference action. The Ducks are new to the Big Ten, but they're also one of the best teams in the country so it makes sense that he wants to go somewhere he can be paid and win big in his final season of college football.

Harmon is a huge pickup for the Ducks who look like legitimate national title contenders. They continue to win in the portal and on the recruiting trail as Lanning is building something special in Eugene.

Unfortunately for Michigan State, it lost Brandon Lane on Thursday night and now Harmon, who was rumored to be considering the Spartans, is off to Oregon while Simeon Barrow, too, looks like he's about to commit (Miami is the favorite). The defensive line has taken a massive hit this offseason.

Jonathan Smith will need to dig deep into the portal to find someone to replace these tough losses and he's hosting a Grand Valley transfer this weekend.

Let's hope we hear some good news.
