Michigan State football is due for some good news right? After all the entrants into the portal it's about time the Spartans get some good news to make up for all the losses on the recruiting trail.

Thankfully for Michigan State fans, it appears good news is on the horizon as a recruit the Spartans are trending for has set a commitment date.

Michigan State linebacker target Di'Mari Malone has announced that he will be committing next Sunday, May 12. All signs point towards Michigan State getting good news as Malone currently holds four crystal ball predictions on 247Sports to commit to MSU.

Malone has been trending to Michigan State for quite some time now, which is a good sign because I think he is severely underrated. This past season, Malone totaled 73 tackles as well as eight tackles for loss. He's also a proven ball hawk as he had three interceptions, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a sack.

Malone will be deciding between the Spartans, Illinois, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh on May 12. Malone only visited two schools this spring, Michigan State and Minnesota, but he left his visit to East Lansing in early April feeling good about the Spartans. He also seems to be a huge fan of MSU defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Joe Rossi, saying, “He’s (Rossi) known as an ‘underdog’ coach, which is what I’ve always considered myself.”

Malone has a chance to be the third Spartan to join MSU's 2025 recruiting class along with quarterback Leo Hannan and linebacker Charles White. These three guys are a great foundation for Jonathan Smith and his staff and are a group that they could easily build an elite class around.

Let's hope nothing crazy happens in Malone's recruitment in the next week, because he appears to be all green and white at this point as his commitment date inches closer.
