Michigan State football picks up commitment from 3-star OT Justin Bell
Just one day after picking up its 11th commitment in the 2025 class, Michigan State football remained red-hot.
In fact, the Spartans landed their 12th commitment of the 2025 class on Wednesday night in the form of three-star offensive tackle Justin Bell from Macomb (Mich.) Dakota. With his commitment to the Spartans, he officially becomes the highest-rated offensive lineman in Michigan State's class, beating out Drew Nichols who also recently committed.
It's good to see that Jonathan Smith is prioritizing the offensive line. He signed a solid line class in 2024 with Rustin Young following him to East Lansing and now he's trying to get another quality crop of linemen.
Although Bell isn't exactly the highest-rated target on the board, the Spartans won out against 15 other programs and it looks like the official visit he took to East Lansing put them over the top.
Bell is a massive 6-foot-8, 288-pound offensive tackle from the Spartans' own backyard and his size is rather intriguing. While it's hard for freshmen to play right away, it feels like the right coaching could make Bell one of the better linemen in the Spartans' 2025 class by the time he graduates.
Smith and Michalczik have to be thrilled about landing another kid from the state of Michigan, too. He joins Di'Mari Maline, Jace Clarizio, Charles White, and Jayden Savoury as the other in-state commits in the Spartans' 2025 class. Smith is doing a really good job in the state and while the star-gazers may be upset, he's getting guys who fit his style and it's giving MSU a good base.
