Michigan State football makes top 4 for No. 2 recruit from Minnesota
Michigan State football is at the most critical point in their first offseason under Jonathan Smith: Official visit season.
Countless recruits will be flocking to East Lansing over the next month as they take their official visit to decide if Michigan State is the right place for them. Many of these recruits already have Michigan State in their top schools, and some MSU is the clear leader for.
But one recruit with an official visit just announced that Michigan State has made his top four.
Abu Tarawallie is a three-star defensive lineman from Osseo, Minn. According to 247Sports' composite rankings, he is the No. 696 player in the country and the No. 72 defensive lineman. Tarawallie is also the No. 2 overall player from the state of Minnesota.
Also included in his top four are Kansas State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Tarawallie will be making his official visit to East Lansing this coming weekend beginning June 7. He also has visits scheduled to Minnesota and Kansas State in the weeks following his MSU visit.
When speaking about what he likes about Michigan State, Tarawallie shared, "I just really like how communicative they are. They will always reach out and see how I am doing. (The coaches) talk to my mom and family a lot."
No official predictions have been made in his recruitment yet, but Michigan State may be the leader so far. According to On3, the Spartans currently have a 45 percent chance to win this recruitment, with Minnesota not too far behind at 31.7 percent.
It's more than likely that Tarawallie will take all of his visits before annoucing his commitment, but Smith and his staff have a huge opportunity in front of them. They have a chance to set the standard extremely high this weekend while he visits East Lansing, and hopefully that will be enough to win this recruitment.
