Official visit season is upon us and new Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith is hard at work trying to piece together a quality first class.

While Smith did have a major hand in the 2024 class, he had to scramble to get it pieced together before signing day. He ended up raising it about 60 spots from where it was when he took over in the national rankings.

And now his 2025 class is off to a solid start with some quality pieces lining up.

The 2025 class might just be getting bigger in the near future as a high-priority target just listed the Spartans in his top four.

Three-star offensive lineman Darius Afalava took his first official visit to Michigan State back on May 31 and he's also fresh off trips to Utah and Oklahoma with one more coming up to Washington on June 21. It's no surprise that all of these teams made his top four and it looks like he'll make his decision shortly after his final official.

Afalava has a really solid list of offers outside of his top four as well. Programs like Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, and USC have also offered the high-three-star from Utah.

The Lehi, Utah, prospect is ranked the No. 430 overall recruit in the class and the No. 26 interior offensive lineman, per 247Sports. He would be a fantastic addition to the Spartans' 2025 class alongside fellow interior offensive lineman from out west, Drew Nichols.

Jim Michalczik has the Spartans in a good spot here.
