Sunday is a huge day for the state of Michigan. On one hand, you have the Lions playing for a Super Bowl berth and on the other, you have Jonathan Smith and Michigan State football wrapping up another weekend of official visits which yielded an important commitment.

In fact, the Spartans landed yet another 2024 class commit on Sunday afternoon.

After getting a late offer and a last-minute official visit before signing day in a couple of weeks, three-star receiver Jaylan Brown committed to Michigan State on Sunday over four other offers. His list of scholarship offers isn't all that impressive, but his film is.

The only other Power Five program that offered Brown was Washington State, but he has been drawing a lot more attention lately and he's even one of the higher-rated three-star prospects on 247Sports, being given an 87 rating -- the 89-90 range usually indicates four-star status.

Many believe that Brown is talented enough to be a four-star and after you watch his highlights, it makes sense. He has size and he plays against great competition down in Texas.

Jonathan Smith got the guy he wanted late in the cycle which is impressive that he can spot some underrated talent, offer them, and land them in quick fashion. That just shows what kind of evaluator and recruiter that Smith is and he has the right staff in place to get the job done.

Michigan State's class keeps improving and signing day is just over a week away. Not too shabby of a rebound from where the class was (in the 90s) when Smith took over.
