Michigan State football is staying hot on the recruiting trail and it's fitting because the temperatures in the state of Michigan this week will be flirting with 100.

While Michigan State isn't quite 100 degrees hot, it's still picking up some steam.

A couple of months ago, the Spartans had zero commitments in the 2025 recruiting class but that's changed drastically. In fact, as of Monday, the number grew to nine pledges. That number was bumped up from eight thanks to a big commitment from three-star tight end Jayden Savoury.

Savoury was being pursued by a number of other major programs and while he's not the highest-ranked prospect in the class, he is just getting back into football after starring on the hardwood for years. He's an athlete who will only get better with more coaching and picking Brian Wozniak, Jonathan Smith, and MSU was a smart move.

The three-star tight end from Orchard Lake St. Mary's is ranked the No. 881 overall prospect and 41st-best tight end in the class, per 247Sports. He's also the state of Michigan's top tight end.

And he's only going to get better. He was an all-conference player in 2023 and I have a feeling he's in for a monster 2024 season in his last go-round at St. Mary's. I wouldn't be shocked if he finished the class in the top 500 nationally.

Arizona State, Boston College, BYU, Duke, Kansas, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and even Yale (yes, he's smart) were all after him.

This is a nice win for Wozniak and Smith as Savoury joins Emmett Bork in the Spartans' two-man tight end class.
