Michigan State football's 2025 recruiting class officially grew by one on Friday.

We are in the middle of official visit season which means that the Spartans could be on commit watch at any moment and that was the case all week as three-star wideout Braylon Collier took a trip to East Lansing last weekend and tweeted out shortly after that he'd be making an announcement on June 7.

It turns out the announcement was a commitment and it was to Michigan State.

Collier is now the sixth commitment for the Spartans in the class of 2025, joining Leo Hannan, Di'Mari Malone, Jace Clarizio, Charles White, and Emmett Bock. The Spartans are building the offensive side of the ball early in this class, addressing the quarterback, running back, tight end, and now receiver positions early on.

Michigan State was able to wrestle Collier away from a couple of other Midwest programs that were in the running: Iowa and Iowa State. He was actually set to visit Iowa State on June 14 and then Iowa on June 21, but it feels like those officials will now be cancelled.

The Spartans own the No. 59 recruiting class in the nation but it looks like it's going to keep rising the ranks now that Jonathan Smith is conjuring some momentum with official visits.

While Smith might not be taking the star-gazing route like his predecessor, he's landing guys who should become solid contributors in a top-tier program for years. The stars will come, but Smith is building a nice base and the first six commitments of the 2025 class have proven that.
