And then there were 11. After having zero commitments in the 2025 recruiting class a few months ago, Michigan State football is now at 11 after the commitment of a three-star defensive back.

On Tuesday night, the Spartans landed three-star cornerback Aydan West over the likes of Penn State, Cincinnati, and West Virginia.

West was just in East Lansing this past weekend for an official visit and he took trips to Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Virginia, and West Virginia in the month leading up to this final decision. He wanted to commit before his senior year so he did just that, choosing the Spartans over some other decent offers.

On top of the official visits he took, he also held offers from Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Pitt, and Virginia Tech. His list of offers won't exactly blow anyone away, but it's clear that he had Power Four interest.

West is ranked the No. 1,016 overall recruit in the class and the No. 91 cornerback, according to the composite. He stands 6-foot-0 and weighs 184 pounds and the Maryland-native becomes the Spartans' second cornerback commit in the 2025 class, joining three-star George Mullins from Bushnell, Fla., who just committed on Saturday.

Jonathan Smith is piecing together quite the class with high-three-star guys who could take a year or two to develop and then become stars by the time they're sophomores and juniors much like we saw during the Mark Dantonio days.

I really like the base that Smith is building and it feels like the floor is rising.
