A couple of years ago, Mel Tucker made what many would consider to be one of his best hires, bringing in Brandon Jordan to be a pass rush specialist for Michigan State football.

Jordan had plenty of experience as a pass rush specialist, working on his own with some of the top players in the NFL and that alone was enough to get some top talent to come to East Lansing like Bai Jobe, Jalen Thomspon, and Andrew Depaepe. He also helped with Jacoby Windmon and he became one of the best pass rushers in the Big Ten.

After just one year with the Spartans, Pete Carroll and the Seahawks poached him. He spent the past season in the NFL and now after Carroll and Seattle parted ways, he has been looking for a new job.

Michigan State fans would've loved him back in East Lansing, but he's actually headed to another Big Ten school and he's officially a rival coach.

Jordan is obviously well-liked and respected by almost everyone he comes in contact with and it's clear that Ryan Day liked what he saw from the former Michigan State pass rush specialist enough to hire him this offseason as a defensive program assistant. That's a massive steal to get him to come to Columbus as an assistant in this role.

Yes, that just means that Ohio State is going to become that much tougher to beat and the Buckeyes' defensive line will likely end up benefitting massively from this.

It'll be tough to see Jordan wearing anything other than green but this is a great move for him.
