Michigan State basketball's 2024 signees see movement in final On3 rankings
Kur Teng, Shooting Guard
Kur Teng is the final Spartan in the 2024 class and he too saw his ranking change. While McCulloch and Richardson's movement was significant, that wasn't the case for Teng who saw his ranking slide slightly from No. 48 to No. 50.
While a ranking moving down is never a good thing, Teng moving down just two spots tells us that On3 still views him the same as they did before. This isn't a case of them thinking he's become a worse player, this small movement just means that On3 is higher on a couple other guys that were behind Teng. So On3 didn't physically move Teng down, they just had two guys jump Teng in their rankings.
Teng, in my opinion, may be the freshman who has the biggest impact this upcoming season.
The one thing Michigan State needs a lot more of is outside shooting, and Teng just so happens to be one of the top 3-point shooters in the country. So even though the best shooter from a season ago is no longer on the team (Tyson Walker), Teng and Gehrig Normand have a chance to step up and be major contributors from beyond the arc.
