The Nike EYBL took place this past weekend and that's usually the perfect time for college coaches to check in on some of their top targets in person. Tom Izzo and Michigan State basketball were represented at the event and one of the Hall of Fame coach's top targets was the center of attention.

Top-30 junior Niko Bundalo has long been a target of Izzo's and that continued over the weekend as he checked in on two of his games and watched as the five-star big man dominated.

In fact, he had a huge game on May 17, putting up 26 points and five rebounds in an overtime win where he shot an efficient 10-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-6 from deep. That's right, a 6-foot-11 power forward hit 66 percent of his threes and was nearly perfect from the floor.

Izzo didn't get quite enough of Bundalo in that game and checked back in on Sunday.

To me, this shows that Izzo is putting on the full-court press because when he puts this much attention on one recruit, he usually gets what he wants. Izzo has been making Bundalo feel like he's a priority for months and he had to see him on the sidelines for both of these games and truly feel that desire the Hall of Famer has for him to don the green and white in 2025.

Bundalo is ranked the No. 23 overall recruit in the nation and the No. 7 power forward, per 247Sports. The Ohio native will have Ohio State pursuing him heavily but this is a recruitment that Izzo could -- and should -- win.

Getting Bundalo to replace Xavier Booker (assuming he goes pro after the 2024-25 season) would be the best-case scenario for the Spartans. Heck, if Booker came back in 2025, a frontcourt of him and Bundalo would stretch the floor and be borderline unstoppable offensively.
