Michigan State basketball offers No. 1 recruit from Indiana during visit
As the summer progresses and we head into the fall, one thing that will remain constant is Michigan State basketball bringing its top priority recruits on campus for visits. This will be seen the most with their 2025 targets, but that doesn't mean Tom Izzo and his staff won't go after the next batch of recruits in the 2026 class either.
That was seen once again this past weekend when a new name in the 2026 recruiting class was on campus for a visit and received an offer from Michigan State while in town.
Steven Reynolds is a four-star recruit from South Bend, Ind. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Reynolds is the No. 59 player in the country. He also is the No. 14 shooting guard in his class and the top ranked player from the state of Indiana.
Being in the 2026 class, Reynolds' recruitment still has a long ways to go, but he clearly is a name Michigan State fans should monitor closely. Reynolds hasn't said much publicly since his visit to East Lansing and receiving his scholarship offer, but he did say himself that it was a "great visit".
Reynolds has received a few scholarship offers from other big name schools including Purdue, Notre Dame and Nebraska. He has not released a list of his top schools yet, but Notre Dame and Purdue will definitely be teams to watch as they are from his home state with the Irish being the hometown team.
We likely won't find out any specific information about Reynolds' recruitment for some time, but one thing to monitor is how ofter Izzo is visiting and recruiting him in person. We all know that when Izzo loves a recruit, he will go and visit him sometimes on a weekly basis. So that will show us how serious Izzo is about getting Reynolds in the green and white, and so far it looks like he is one of the top targets in the 2026 class for Michigan State.
