All eyes were on the state of Indiana on Wednesday night as five-star small forward Jalen Haralson got set to choose between Indiana, Notre Dame, and Michigan State basketball.

The La Lumiere recruit had plenty of potential suitors, but recently came out with a top three of Michigan State, Indiana, and Notre Dame and the expectation heading into his decision was that he would remain in the Hoosier State and play for either the Irish or the Hoosiers.

And that's exactly the choice he made.

While Michigan State made a strong push for Haralson and seemed to make up some ground during his visit on the weekend of Sept. 14, it just wasn't enough to overcome whatever was being offered elsewhere.

This is a tough loss to Tom Izzo because it felt like Haralson fit the Spartans' system perfectly. He's a strong-bodied wing who is talented enough to handle the ball and he can score from all three levels. He's an athletic specimen and he would've been a heck of a start to the 2025 class.

As it stands right now, Michigan State has zero commitments in its 2025 class but the Spartans did just make the cut for two other elite prospects in the cycle. Darius Adams and Dwayne Aristode also listed Michigan State in their top schools lists this week which means decisions should be coming from them soon.

Unfortunately, this is the second miss for Izzo and Co. this week as four-star big man Trent Sisley committed to Indiana.

There's still plenty of time -- and targets -- to grow the 2025 class into something special.
