Michigan State basketball is fresh off their annual Grind Week which saw many former Spartan alumni come back to East Lansing to work out with the current team. The star-studded lineup of alumni however were not the only massive vistors on campus this weeked as one of Tom Izzo's top targets in the 2025 recruiting class was also on campus in Jalen Haralson.

Haralson is arguably Izzo's most sought after recruit in this recruiting cycle, and that is for good reason. He is one of the top players in the entire 2025 class coming in at No. 13 according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also is the No. 2 forward in the class as well as the top player from the state of Indiana.

Being such a highly ranked recruit you can imagine all of the elite programs that have been after him. This includes Indiana, Notre Dame, Purdue, Duke, and Kansas just to name a few. But Michigan State is right there in the mix and that was seen on Sunday when Haralson dropped some massive news.

This is where things get really exciting.

According to Eric Bossi of 247Sports, Haralson has cancelled his previously scheduled visits to Kansas and Missouri mere hours after his visit to Michigan State was complete.

This is a very good sign for the Spartans because it tells us that he loved his visit to Michigan State so much that he can confidently rule out some other programs that were previously high on his list. However, there are some other schools still in the mix with Purdue being one of the top programs to keep an eye on.

While he cancelled these two visits Haralson also decided to move his visit to Purdue up to this coming weekend. In doing so, he has also said that he is getting a lot closer to announcing his commitment as well.

Michigan State also has to keep an eye out for Indiana and Notre Dame in this recruitment as they have hosted Haralson on recent visits right before his trip to East Lansing this past weekend.

My confidence in winning this recruitment has gone up a little bit after this weekend, but part of me still feels Haralson is going to pick one of the Indiana schools. I think the Hoosiers may have the slight lead right now, but this is just a gut feeling. It's clear that Michigan State is at the top of his list and have a great chance to land their first commit in the 2025 class.
