The good news just keeps pouring in for Michigan State basketball. We all know how hard Tom Izzo works on the recruiting trail and that has once again been the case this offseason.

Izzo and his staff are making great progress with many of their top targets, and they once again got more good news with one of the best recruits in the country on Sunday.

Cam Ward is a four-star forward from Upper Marlboro, Md. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Ward is the No. 48 player in the country. He also is the No. 15 forward in the country and the No. 2 player from Maryland.

Also included in Ward's top 10 with Michigan State is Marquette, Mississippi State, Alabama, Kansas State, Maryland, Virginia, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and Florida State. While any top 10 will have tough programs to beat, this one feels very manageable as the top programs in the country are nowhere to be found.

On top of making Ward's top 10, Michigan State is one of four schools to also schedule an official visit as well. Ward will be making his official visit to East Lansing this fall on Sept. 28.

So even though Ward has only released his top 10 so far, it cold be a safe assumption that Michigan State is actually one of his top four schools. Kansas State, Maryland and Alabama are the three other schools with an official visit scheduled with Ward as well.

When speaking about his upcoming visit to East Lansing with Joe Tipton of On3, Ward had the following to say.

"How do you say no to Tom Izzo? That guy is a legend and I see everything that they want to do with me as far as get me to the league and be a part of a family."

Now that sounds like someone who is extremely interested in Michigan State. Hearing that he respects Izzo that much and sees a path to the NBA at Michigan State are two amazing things to hear from a recruit.

We'll see how this recruitment plays out later this September, but you have to love where the Spartans stand right now.
