3. Like last year's loss to Iowa, this one's on Tom Izzo

At some point, Tom Izzo has to be to blame for a horrific loss such as this one and I remember exactly what my thoughts were after last year's meltdown in Iowa City, and they were similar on Tuesday night.

Izzo had a chance to add to that resume and pick up a nice win over an improving team (not yet a tourney team, by the way) and he didn't have his team prepared to face the zone and his post rotation was a nightmare. Not to mention the fact that Coen Carr played just two minutes after having his best game as a Spartan on Saturday against Michigan.

Michigan State was horribly mismanaged once again as players who probably should have seen the floor more (Xavier Booker and Carr) didn't and those who didn't have their best games were playing extensively. It was an all-around disaster.

And yet Izzo went into his postgame interview and said that there weren't good matchups for Booker which is why he didn't play more yet he had one of his best showings of the year.

You can't lose a home game like this near the end of the regular season against an inferior team and this one falls on Izzo for not having his guys prepared.
