One thing Michigan State basketball fans all know that the rest of the college basketball world maybe doesn't is that Tom Izzo loves his players and would do anything for them. The media plays a big part of why the public sometimes has negative feelings towards Izzo, but everyone associated with the MSU basketball program would tell you differently.

Mallk Hall is the next Spartan who has outwardly spoken about his relationship with Izzo. And for Spartan fans, nothing he said will come as a surprise.

Hall recently spoke with Owen Oszust with WILX News 10 and was asked about why Izzo yells at his players, and he said, "You realize he's just yelling at you trying to get you to be the best you can possibly be." He continued, "I think it took me a little bit to understand that and really get on the same page with coach, but I think once I did it helped a lot."

Hall also spoke about how it took some maturing for him to realize that Izzo is yelling because he cares that much about his players. Initially this type of coaching was something Hall may have struggled with. But as he got older, more mature and got to develop a better relationship with Izzo, Malik's perspective completely changed.

Malik ended his statement but saying, "I'm always forever grateful for everything he's done for me."

I believe this goes beyond the game of basketball. Sure Izzo is primarily a basketball coach to his players, but he is so much more than that. For a lot of players he can be another father figure. He is someone that they can go to about anything outside the game of basketball as well. And that's what makes Izzo one of the best coaches of all time.

Sure he's elite at winning and bringing championships back to East Lansing, but almost every player that has played for Izzo has become a better human being for doing so. And each and every player always has many positive things to say about their coach.
