Are you happy now? That's probably what Tom Izzo wants to ask Michigan State basketball fans after months of complaining about the center position and begging for the Hall of Fame head coach to land one in the transfer portal.

Well, he did just that on Tuesday in the form of Longwood's Szymon Zapala.

No, this isn't the sexiest transfer addition in the Big Ten and it actually might be the most underwhelming, but he did add some depth to the biggest position of need, especially after losing Mady Sissoko to Cal this offseason. Some might argue that Mady would've been a better option as the third center next year, but I digress.

Zapala committed to the Spartans after getting interest from programs like Wichita State and Rhode Island and while he's not going to start for Michigan State next year, he'll be a solid third-string option behind Jaxon Kohler and Carson Cooper.

This move tells me that he's more than confident in Kohler and Cooper to lead the center position next year and Zapala was fine with fighting for minutes as a high-major program.

Izzo's confidence in his bigs has been an issue for years because the position hasn't improved much under the current staff. It's fine to hope for development, but we haven't seen much of that since Dwayne Stephens left.

Adding a 7-footer who averaged 9.8 points and 5.6 rebounds in the Big South is slightly underwhelming, but he's at least going to make the guys ahead of him better and provide the Spartans another big body in the post -- oh, and he did shoot 63 percent from the field last year.

It's OK to question this move, but Izzo has a plan.
