4. Three-star ATH Cashus Shivers

The fourth and final recruit the Spartans currently lead for is three-star athlete Cashus Shivers. He is the No. 699 player in the country and the No. 49 athlete.

Similar to Jayden Savoury, Shivers is also from Detroit but he hasn’t been talking many visits to Michigan State. In fact, he has not visited campus since Smith took over as coach and does not have an official visit scheduled yet either. That, however, is not a reason to panic as he hasn’t been taking visits anywhere nor does he have an official visit scheduled to any school yet.

Shivers was offered by Michigan State during Mel Tucker’s tenure, but Smith re-offered him on Feb. 16. On3 then went ahead and logged an official prediction for MSU to win this recruitment in early March. On3 also gives MSU a 99 percent chance to win this recruitment.

This one is a little strange to me as it seems like so much is unknown with his recruitment. The lack of visits as well as no official visits scheduled yet makes it hard to tell who leads in his recruitment. However, I also feel like On3 wouldn’t list Michigan State as the heavy favorite for no reason. My guess is that we will see some more concrete information come out soon, like an upcoming visit to East Lansing or an official visit scheduled for this summer.
