Michigan State football's 2025 class currently sits at 15 commits, and all things considered it is a very solid class. Sure it doesn't meet the standards that we have at MSU, but when you consider where the program was at when Jonathan Smith took over it's actually very good.

Typically once a recruit commits to Michigan State I don't follow them too closely until they arrive on campus. Sure they are times when recruitments take a turn for their worse, but more often than not there really isn't much too pay attention to once they commit to MSU.

The one thing however that is fun to watch are the players recruiting ranking and see if any of the Spartan's commits move up on the recruiting sites. And that's exactly what just happened to four of Michigan State's commits in the 2025 class.

Four Michigan State football commits see their ranking improve

The following three Michigan State commits all saw their ranking improve on the 247Sports composite ranking. This is significant because this is the most respected ranking of them all as it combines various recruiting sites rankings into one.

The Spartan commit who saw the biggest improvement to their ranking is East Lansing running back Jace Clarizio. He saw his ranking move from 0.8814 to 0.8868. The coveted fourth star is handed out once recruits hit 0.89, so Clarizio is now extremely close to reaching that mark.

Another future Spartan who saw their ranking improve a lot is tight end Jayden Savoury, who went from 0.8689 to 0.8714. This inches Savoury within striking range to becoming a four-star and is something he could realistically get to by the end of the year.

The third Michigan State commit who improved in the 247Sports composite ranking is linebacker Di'Mari Malone. Conveniently enough, his ranking now matches Savoury as it went from 0.8685 to 0.8714.

Finally we have linebacker Charles White, who is now also pretty close to becoming a four-star. His ranking only improved from 0.8793 to 0.8794, but you can see just how close he is to reaching 0.89 and potentially getting his fourth star.

These recruiting rankings will still change a lot throughout the rest of the year, and while these rankings don't really mean all that much when it comes to who they are as players, you obviously would rather see them go up than down. Hopefully this trend continues and Michigan State will have multiple four-stars in their recruiting class in no time.
