Elite 4-star OL legacy recruit visiting Michigan State football this weekend
Michigan State football is in the midst of their spring practice schedule, and so far they have done an excellent job at getting many recruits on campus to visit during these practices. They have gotten a lot of high priority recruits to visit, but arguably none are bigger than offensive lineman Avery Gach.
Avery Gach is a four-star offensive lineman from Franklin, Mich. He is one of the best recruits not just in the state of Michigan, but in the entire country. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 196 player in the country and the No. 13 player at his position. He is also the No. 2 player from the state of Michigan.
Being one of the best recruits from Michigan, it is no surprise to hear that the Wolverines are heavily involved in his recruitment. In fact, they may very well be the leader as there is one 247Sports crystal ball prediction in favor of Michigan in Avery's recruitment. However, Michigan State is making up ground, and it is clear the Spartans are one of his top schools.
Avery will be visiting Michigan State on April 13, but he already has plans in mind for a few more East Lansing visits. He recently shared that he intends to make another spring visit at some point this year as well as an official visit to East Lansing later this summer. So if that doesn't tell you how seriously he is taking Michigan State in his recruitment, nothing will.
When asked about what is important to him in his future school, Gach told Kenny Jordan, "A big thing for me as well is finding a school I truly love and want to be at. If I wasn't playing football, would I really want to be here?"
That clearly will be a huge emphasis for Jonathan Smith on these upcoming visits, and something I have no doubts he can portray to Avery.
This will be one of the most important recruitments of the 2025 cycle for the Spartans.
Michigan State and Michigan appear to be his top two schools, and you always want to dominate the recruiting battles against your rival for in-state recruits. So hopefully Smith can get off to a good start in recruiting the state by winning this recruitment.
